Mulled Wine

Mulled Wine

I love simmering a batch of Mulled Wine, especially on a classic New England snow day. This recipe features citrus elements that brighten up the flavors. It comes together in just 15 minutes, making it perfect for a lazy winter evening.

I recently added Caribe & Co Sorrel and Ginger Syrup to this Mulled Wine recipe and I am obsessed with how it tastes. It adds a perfect sweetness and elevates the recipe to the next level.

Here's how I make my Mulled Wine:

You will need:
1 bottle red wine (Merlot, Grenache, something affordable)
1/4 cup Cointreau or another Orange Liqueur or a brandy of your choice
3 tablespoons Caribe & Co Sorrel and Ginger Syrup (or honey or maple syrup)
4 - 6 cinnamon sticks (depending on your spice preference)
2 teaspoons whole cloves
1 teaspoon whole cardamom pods
Dried orange slices and cinnamon sticks for garnish

Let's do it!

  • In a medium to large pot, add your wine, Cointreau, syrup, cinnamon sticks, cloves and cardamom pods.
  • Give it a good stir, then cover and simmer over low to medium heat for 15 minutes.
  • After 15 minutes, uncover and taste your mulled wine. You can add more sweetener or spices at this point and cover and turn the heat off to keep it warm. Or you can serve it right up!
  • Serve it up into mugs and garnish with a cinnamon stick and dried orange slice per mug.

Enjoy in your Mulled Wine Beanie for super cozy vibes.
